Secret Nailing System (Traditional) Traditional secret fixing through the tongue into a wood bearer It is possible to secret nail Arden Heritage® solid hardwood flooring in a number of ways. • Secret nailed to plywood over a concrete slab • Secret nailed to suspended or timber sub-floors • Secret nailed to battens • Secret nailed to existing boarded, chipboard or plywood sub-floors Pre-installation Considerations The success of the final installation of your new Arden Heritage® solid hardwood floor is wholly dependent on the quality of the sub-floor onto which it is laid. Therefore correct site preparation is essential. All sub-floors should be firm, level, clean and dry to ensure installation is completed to the highest possible standard. Solid hardwood is a natural product and adapts its internal moisture content to the relative humidity of the environment in which is installed. Therefore particular attention must be given to the moisture content within the sub-floor. This should be tested by your local installation specialist. Where sub-floor moisture levels are in excess of our stated recommendations, then a damp proof membrane must be incorporated before installing your new Arden Heritage® solid hardwood floor. |
