About Arden Heritage®

Home

Visually stunning, natural and unique..... there is no substitute for a traditional solid hardwood floor.

The eternal appeal of wood owes much to the fact it originates from a natural living source. Patterns of growth evident in knots and grain give wood its unique character. No two boards or species of wood are alike. There is a tactile quality about wood- you almost read its history, feel its warmth underfoot and listen to its sensual sound. Like all natural materials, Arden Heritage® solid wood floors age with dignity and with care last a lifetime, acquiring greater depth of character and maturity.

Ambience

Great emphasis has been placed on the crafting of Arden Heritage® hardwood floors. Subtle bevels to the edges of each piece defines the individual character. Supplied in random lengths your new floor reflects the unique patterns of nature becoming a bespoke piece of craftsmanship in its own right. Using our specially developed acoustic silent layer system you can achieve an ambiance previously unobtainable with traditional fitting methods offering even higher levels of comfort, sound reduction and warmth.

Surfaces

The Arden Heritage® collections contain two alternative surface textures - brushed and fine sanded. Our fine sanded surface provides a beautiful smooth face onto which we apply the finish. With our brushed surface the graining of the hardwood has been accentuated by removing the softer wood between the harder annual growth rings adding an extra dimension.

Finishes

Choose from deep oil upon which you can build up a rich lustre to your personal satisfaction or opt for the convenience of satin lacquer to fit into today’s hectic lifestyles. A new matt finish giving the look of an oiled floor with the benefits of a lacquer is available to special order.

Hand Finished

Our Castle collection represents the ultimate in special floors. Each piece of hand finished flooring is distressed giving the appeal of years of ageing and mellowing to what is essentially a brand new floor. With years of use ahead the floor will acquire a maturity previously only available with expensive reclaimed timber.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Care and maintenance of your new floor is dependent upon the finish you have purchased.

Protection

Protect entrance areas (internal and external) with barrier mats to avoid walking in grit and water. Felt pads and castor cups should be used to protect the floor from damage caused by furniture.

General

Sweep or vacuum the floor regularly with the brush head lowered to remove traces of all loose dirt.

Never use wet cleaning methods because excessive moisture will damage the natural flooring and may discolour the surface.

Satin Finish

Remove heavy soiling from the surface with a well wrung out damp cloth. Periodically apply a sparing amount of refresher dressing to supplement the surface lacquer.

Oiled Finish

As with the satin finish, use a well rung out cloth. Periodically apply a nourishing treatment to maintain the floor in pristine condition. Take care not to over apply the dressing thereby causing a build up on the surface.

Environmental Care

Our ambition is to work with the greatest possible care for the environment. Arden Heritage® have developed a policy of only manufacturing solid wood floor products from species of wood coming from responsibly managed sustainable sources.

Our selection of surface treatment products shows the highest possible consideration to nature, thereby minimising the impact that the production process has on our outdoor environment.
